Peace Corps in Vienna?

As of now, we are in the airport waiting to fly to Yerevan. We arrive there at 4:55am. Sweet. So far things have been really good. JFK was a little rocky because they wouldn't give me and two others our tickets so we had to wait outside until 30 minutes before the plane took off. I was confident that the plane wasn't going to leave and it was nice to hang out with the two others I was with. The flight to Vienna was really good. I sat next to Amanda who is from the Peace Corps and we sat next to Mattias and his girlfriend (another Amanda) who were from Sweden. They were wicked awesome and we talked a good fourth of the flight. They were going on a four month- around the world tour. They were really nice and fun to talk to. I talked about my experiences with Sweden and being up in Abisko which is 220km above the artic circle. Logically he gave a very puzzled look probably wondering why I would go up there and not to stockholm. Anyway, really cool people.

We got to Vienna and Austrian Airlines gave us day rooms for our 16 hour layover. Dave (my roommate) and I took a short nap (in separate beds) and then met everyone else around 12 to go into Vienna. We took the train in and found our way around and then got something to eat. I got some kind of weird potato, bacon, chicken, covered in a sour cream and ranch sauce (mom, I know its not healthy, but I am going to eat cardboard for the next two years...). Anyway, we walked around some more and then we went back to the hotel around 4:30. We didn't really do too much in Vienna, but when I got back, I passed back out for two hours because I was exhausted and woke up with enough time to pack my stuff, brush my teeth, and check out. Dave and I walked around the Vienna airport (which is really weird because security is right before you get on the plane- literally, right before you get on the plane). Anyway, I bought two bottles of Bailey's irish creme for my host families and bought a sandwich and now Im typing away on this blog and apparently rambling.

I just wanted to point out to all my friends at home that it has happened. Jon, you better be reading this... You too Helena...Already in the two days I have known these people, they have stated that I am the "king of awkward". (don't worry Dad, Im pretty sure everyone here likes me). Dave also stated that I complained a lot. I came back with a retort stating that I just like to state facts and what's going on. I mean if its hot, I vocalize it; once; that is all. Anyway, that is all for now.

As far as feelings go, Im excited to meet everyone but we will see.

I love you mom and dad... until next time (that is going to be how I sign off now... I think its catchy and very unoriginal).
